Welcome to Our Lady of Lourdes School

Thank you for considering Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School as one of your choices for the Canadian educational experience. You will find a great, community feel school of approximately 150 students from Kindergarten through Grade 7. We pride ourselves on our strong programs and our connections with staff, students and families in the community. At our school, your child will be known on a first name basis by the principal and all staff members.

Despite our small size, Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School offers our students a full range of programs and activities to enrich our students’ experience.

Athletic teams – volleyball, basketball, track and field

Fine Arts- Drama Club, Music Club, Concert Band

Our classes enjoy exploring our community through regular field trips to local museums, indoor & outdoor athletic facilities and local theatrical and musical performances.

Our international students are highly valued and supported by teachers, support staff and the school community in general. The international students will be supported by a specific program coordinator in the school who is in the classrooms and available to link between the teachers, students and families.

Our home stay families are chosen carefully to provide a loving, home-like environment with strong support for the student in their academic, emotional and social development while in Canada.

For visiting parents, the Okanagan Valley is a popular tourist destination, located approximately 3.5 hours east of Vancouver. The Okanagan is known for crystal clear lakes, scenic mountains, world class wineries and restaurants and a rich history of fruit and vegetable farming.

For the elementary student (Grade 7 and younger), we recommend terms of 3-5 months with full year programs being available to students with past international experience or a strong sense of maturity and independence. We are also able to customize programs to allow for short term stays from a few days to a few weeks.
