Grade 7 Students Visit the Man of the Shroud Exhibition
April 5, 2024
Students from the Grade 7 class at Our Lady of Lourdes had the unique opportunity to listen to Father Andrew Dalton, international Shroud speaker, he is an assistant professor of theology at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, Italy where he teaches Biblical theology of the passion of the Christ. The presentation was on the Shroud of Turin, which is claimed by many to be the burial shroud of Jesus Christ. The Shroud is, in fact, the single most studied artifact in human history. The lecture was followed by a question and answer session with Father and then the opportunity to visit the exhibition. The exhibition included a full sized 14-foot replica of the Shroud of Turin (referred to by some as the fifth Gospel) in addition to the five replicas of Our Lord’s Passion. This Exhibition shows an in-depth examination of its historical and scientific aspects. The students enjoyed this experience and many of them described it as amazing.
